BuxWear Dandenong Home

About Us

BuxWear Uniforms has a background that few other companies in the school uniform business can rival.

Founded by Norman W. Buck in Melbourne’s fashion precinct in Flinders Lane in 1947, the BuxWear business originally produced fashion wear for young women of the post-war era. As the Baby Boom took hold in the 1950’s, Norman W. Buck responded to the unprecedented demand for schoolwear, quickly gaining a reputation for sturdy and comfortable school uniforms that met the many demands of schools all over Australia.

In 1964 the business relocated to its present location in Dandenong, later adding BuxWear Direct in Thomastown. In 2017, we celebrated our 70th birthday which is a significant milestone for any company. With over seven decades of manufacturing experience, BuxWear has not lost sight of what is important to both the school and the student – Quality, Style, Durability and Service.

Our Design Team is constantly searching for innovative ways to improve our products to adapt to the variety of fittings in our ever-changing society. Garments are manufactured in Australia and overseas to an Australian Standards Specification. We use the best available materials, in order to maintain our reputation as a leader in the school uniform market.

We currently have in excess of 500 customers including schools, corporates and retailers. Our loyal customer base and our ongoing success as a reliable supplier for schools and colleges have been based on our quality products, reliability, business integrity and customer service.

Buxwear has a commitment to high quality standards for all aspects of uniform supply and sales, covering fabric selection, colour continuity, sizing consistency, stock availability and most importantly customer care.

Buxwear is an Australian Manufacturer and is committed to the ethical manufacturing in our country and overseas and to that end is accredited with Ethical Clothing Australia.
